Catching up

I know, I know.....I have heard it from a lot of you. I have been at the bottom of your blog list for quite some time now! Life has been busy and blogging has been the last thing on my mind. Here are some cute pictures that I put together for a few other projects I was doing. Just want to show off how darling my son is!
Aiden's favorite thing to do--EAT! It is a miracle that this kid is not 100 lbs.
Mommy's lil' helper! Kids are great! I guess I'll have a few more and train them to do the dishes and clean the bathrooms: )

A few of my favorite pictures that I wanted to share with everyone!

Merry Christmas!

Due to the fact that I am too lazy and cheap to send everyone I know a letter and pictures, those of you who are on my blog list will be recieving your letter through this blog. I am sorry, but as you can tell, I am a huge procrastinator and am quickly running out of time. At least you will get yours before Christmas! I know this would have been much better had I enlisted my wonderful husbands help...he is the witty one, but once again...I am working against the clock!

Dear Family and Friends,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I apologize that many of you may not receive this letter until after Christmas but it has been a crazy month which is just in keeping with the busy year we have had. Last year at this time, we were waiting around hoping to have a baby on any day but Christmas. Aiden arrived kicking and screaming on the 29th of December. He is such a happy boy with an easy smile. He loves balls and girls and will smile and talk to any woman who walks by. He is just starting to take his first steps. He has been such a blessing in our lives. We can’t remember what life was like without him.
I took the spring semester off and tried my best to learn how to be a mom and wife at the same time. Tyler continued going to school at Utah State and working. We were expecting Tyler to graduate that semester, but we found out he lacked one class. So he took an online class this past fall and is now graduated!
At the beginning of summer, we got word that my dad’s boss was considering building a 5,000 cow dairy. My dad put in a good word for Tyler and after a few telephone calls we jumped in the car and moved to my hometown, Enterprise! Tyler has been working his brains out, but he is doing what he loves and that makes us all happy. They have about 2,000 cows now and they hope to be milking in a few months.
We had no place to live, so my parents let us live with them for a few months. In August we found a house we loved and could afford so we put in an offer and they accepted. It was a long and frustrating process that I don’t look forward to doing again, but on October 16th we became home owners! It is an old house built in 1920, but it has so much potential. We are so excited to put a little elbow grease into it and make it ours!
Unfortunately we have had no spare time at all and the house has just stayed exactly the same. Tyler has been crazy-busy with the cows, and I started student teaching this past fall. I love teaching, but I am definitely glad to be done. I have a deep respect for the working mom and have decided that I am not tough enough to do it. Luckily I found a great baby sitter who Aiden loved which made it a little easier. But I am happy to report, after months of lesson planning and portfolio creating, I am graduated!
While I wish I could report that the craziness stopped there….it didn’t. There was one thing left to do on the list: Aiden’s surgery. I really just wanted to get it over with, so I kept the doctor and appointment in Logan. A few days after we had both finished with school, we took off to Logan. We really had no idea what to expect, but luckily it turned out to be an extremely minor case and the doctor had to do very little at all. After about a day, Aiden was back to our happy, smiley boy.
It has been a wonderful year. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends. We love you all and wish you a memorable 2010.
Lots of Love,
The Emmetts
Tyler, Kaydee and Aiden

Baby on the Move

Aiden has found a new friend at Grandma's house. Aiden scoots over to that boy in the mirror and hollers at him until that boy ends up bonking heads with my boy. Aiden always looks at that boy with tear filled eyes like "What was that for!?! I thought we were having fun!"

Check out those Chipmunk Cheeks! Definitely Daddy's Boy! Aiden even fills those enormous cheeks full of food, just like his dad. I thought I could break Tyler of that habit so he wouldn't teach it to our children.....I either have an extra observant, brillant child or this odd trait is hereditary.

My baby is growing up so fast! He is super anxious to get around. My world is beginning to turn upside down. He hasn't quite learned how to crawl on hands and knees, but he is mastering the army crawl. Uncle Randan is going to be so proud of his Army skills when he gets home in a few weeks!

It is Official!

Well, it is official, the dairy is happening! Friday they brought diary cows to the feed yard. We are all so excited. Tyler and my Dad have been working like crazy trying to get ready for the dairy cows. They ended up coming a little earlier than they expected, but it all worked out. The next step is to find a house. At this point I think I would take anything. I love living with my parents and we are having a blast, but I have always dreamed of the day when we could finally have a place to call our own. Surprisingly there is quite a few houses to choose from in E-town.

We recently went to a family reunion to the hot springs near Glendale, NV. Aiden had his first swimming experience. He had so much fun. It was perfect because the water wasn't freezing cold. We had a lot of fun spending time with family.

Tyler and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. I even left Aiden with my mom. Yes that was the first time....and yes I know that I need to do that more. We went to the movie "UP" in 3D. It was a cute movie. Quite the picture, I know that, too ; )

For Father's Day I finally got Aiden's pictures taken. I am so happy with them. I was so worried about them because Aiden refused to take a nap before them and he was screaming as we walked into the place. As soon as I sat him down he just started posing and laughing, it was hilarious!

We are convinced we have the cutest kid in the world! Aiden is 6 months old and keeping me and Tyler busy as ever! He loves to stand up and can just about pull himself up. Before long Grandma is going to have him crawling. Tyler and I don't encourage that new trick, I have hard a enough time keeping track as it is.

Wyoming..Utah...Wyoming...Utah

So much has happened in the last few months it is hard to know where to start. After Tyler graduated in May he decided he wanted to get some more experience with the Dairy he has been working on and off with for the last couple of years, so we headed to Wyoming intending to be there for the summer. We discover that the normal 6 hour trip has now turned into an excruciating 9 hour trek, apparently 4 month old babies are not accustomed to driving straight through, no stops. Meanwhile we hear word of a Dairy being built literally a few miles away from my parents house. So we moved in with Tyler's parents, not wanting to get ourselves into any contracts we can't get out of in case an opportunity presents itself with this dairy back home. Tyler chats with the boss man and the boss man not only wants to talk with Tyler, but also me and Aiden, so we get in the car for another 9 hours and meet with the boss man and his family in Salt Lake. We chat and have a nice dinner, Tyler agrees to head down to Southern Utah to farm for this guy until we get the thumbs up on the dairy. But of course our stuff is still in Wyoming at his parents house, so we take off first thing in the morning for the trek back to Wyoming, yes another 9 hours! We stay for a few more days and then make the trip to Southern Utah, which is a total of about 14 hours, luckily we split that trip into two days! After this crazy month of driving, I have vowed to Aiden that I will give him a break for the rest of the summer! Poor Kid! He was such a good baby, but had definitely had enough of the car seat and now screams every time I try to put him in it. So now we are waiting to hear if this dairy is a for sure thing. Meanwhile Tyler is farming and we are living with my parents.

That was definitely the short version of the story. But to fill in some gaps, here are a few pictures of all the fun we have been having in Wyoming and Utah.

Aiden is now eating cereal and fruits & veggies, he loves it!

We had so much fun with our friends in Wyoming. Our friends Jake, Gretchen and their boy Owen live in Lovell, WY and our other friends Spence, Amber and their baby girl Mia were visiting family in Lovell. I played basketball with Gretchen and Amber and we always have a jolly ol' time when we get together. (Sorry Mia...You must be a little shy around my camera!)

This is Aiden and his Grandma Emmett finding all kinds of new toys! We had a blast with Tyler's family. Julia and Eric and their family even visited for a while. I even credit Aiden for teaching Malyka how to roll over!

Aiden loves that Utah Air!!! He gets pretty antsy being indoors, he lives for our morning stroller rides and sitting outside on the swing. This is a picture of him and his Grandma Woods.

Aiden and his cousin Dylan playing together.

Our carriage ride at my cousins wedding, Aiden wasn't too impressed but my neices sure had a blast!

Picture Update

Here are a few pictures that were on my camera. Some are a few months old.
A-CHOO!

Malyka and Aiden on the day of their blessing. Malyka was born just about two weeks after Aiden. Julia (Tyler's Sister) and her family decided to make the trek to Logan and we had their blessings on the same day. Aiden was screaming the entire weekend, but I didn't hear one peep from Malyka!

This is a picture of Aiden and his cousin Dylan. Aiden is quickly catching up to Dylan althought he younger by four months. At first Aiden was a little leary of his cousin who was always trying to attack him, but this last time I visited St.George, they were laughing and having a great time together, it was so much fun!

Definitely Daddy's Boy!!

Aiden has found his lip to suck on when his pacifier is not handy. So Cute!!

Yes that is what you think it is! I swear ever other day he blows out his diaper. This one was an extra messy one!

I bought a johnny jump up and was so excited for Aiden to try it out! So far he has yet to figure it out, but he still thinks he is such a big boy because he can stand up.

Here is Aiden's new cool trick. He thinks he is so cool because he can pull his binkie out of his mouth and sometimes put it back in.

I'm Beginning To Think We Are Rednecks!

While I have never thought of myself as a redneck. Not only do I have a freezer and my dryer on my back porch, I also have my husband make my baby mobiles out of a broken lamp, a hanger and yarn!! I guess this is a little less redneck than the previous mobile that Tyler created. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of my parents ceiling fan with ties, shirts, my brothers wrestling singlet and almost any other article of clothing you can think of hanging from each blade. Redneck or not, Aiden doesn't seem to mind. He stares at the thing for hours! Tyler has a talent for making anything out of nothing! I was ready to buy one, but Tyler informed me that he could make one. He has a habit of this, whenever I say that I want to buy a cute shelf or any crafty thing he always remarks on the price, "Are you kidding me, I could make that for less than ....." Sure enough he always pulls through! Am I lucky or what!?! If I weren't such a tight wad I might fight him on the matter. Some day I will be a millionaire and just let loose.

Part Baby, Part ......Ninja!

I just had to share this. A couple nights ago Aiden did this for about 30 minutes straight. I thought it was hilarious!

Pictures of Aiden

My little snuggly bear!

This is a classic Aiden face. He always looks like he is concentrating so hard. I am afraid that those little holes above his eyebrows are going to become permanent!

This is what happens when dad takes care of my baby.

This is a picture of Aiden's baby blessing. We were a little concerned that he wouldn't fit in the outfit Tyler's mom made him, but we squeezed him into it!

New Adventure

This blogging thing is foreign to me and I hope that I can figure it out without embarrassing myself too much. I really enjoy looking at my friends blogs and finally decided to get with the program. I would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer me. Just a little update for those who I haven't seen recently- we had a new member of our family join us on December 29. He is getting so big and we are having so much fun! We are attending Utah State in Logan, UT. Tyler is graduating in a few weeks. I took this semester off and will finish my student teaching in the fall. Tyler is trying to figure out what it is he wants to do with his degree exactly. I am really dreading going back to school, it has been so much fun having no worries except those of being a wife and mom. I am still trying to figure out where these last three months have gone. I can't believe that it is nearly summer!! I guess time flies when your having fun!
